What I Wore

I haven't been to a wedding all year and this month I happen to have not just one, but two!  The worst time to try and look for a dress is at the end of summer because everything is end of the season picked through stuff that nobody wants and the fall stuff is barely in the stores yet.

After going to almost every store in Vancouver that sells dresses, trying on about 20, buying two and returning them, I finally found this amazing dress from BCBG.  While I find it hard to splurge on dresses because I tend to not wear them very often, I am glad I did on this one.  The colour is beautiful and although you can't see it very well from this photo, the detail of the lace peplum and the fully lace back is incredible.

I paired it with this J Crew necklace, beige patent Christian Louboutin's and a beige studded clutch to add a little edge to my look.

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Weekly Wishlist

Well, friends, today's installment of the Weekly Wishlist is a long one again.

I love summer, but not so much late summer.  This drastic change in weather (and might I add WET) this last week in Vancouver has made me long for cool, crisp autumn days ahead. Not winter, mind you, autumn.  Let’s not rush into cold so soon.  But I am longing for those chilly Saturday mornings. The ones when you wake up and put socks on as you drink your coffee slowly and think of all the people preparing for a football game.  Yes, that.  That's what I long for.

Okay, enough day dreaming and on with the good stuff....

Local Designer: Rocaille Jewellery

Yet again Instagram proves to not just be good for posting the occasional cheesy selfie and creeping on people's pics.  I found this totally AMAZing jewellery designer while looking at a post from the Rebecca Bree store (which, by the way, is the coolest store ever!).

Not only are her designs one-of-a-kind statement pieces with a classic yet punk edge, the designer is local!!  Who doesn't love to support and show love to a fellow Vancouverite?

Since its debut in late 2010, ROCAILLE jewels have been featured in Flare Magazine, Lou Lou Magazine, and plenty more.

The name "ROCAILLE" (ro'kai) finds its origins in the 18th century European "rococo" style, a movement characterized by whimsy, romance and ornaments.

Here are just a few of her beautiful pieces...

To view or purchase one of her pieces, click here or visit the Rebecca Bree store at 3680 W 4th Ave, Vancouver, BC or online at http://www.rebeccabree.com.

New Music

Sevyn Streeter just dropped the remix to her original track called "It Wont Stop" featuring Chris Brown.  I'm really liking this girl.  She's got an Aaliyah vibe to her.

Took me a few listens to feel this song but now I can't stop boppin' my head to this sweet little semi-slow jam...

Happy listening!

What I Wore

I always find it tough to look cute while making a conscious effort to not look like a total over dressed bozo in hipster-ville Whistler.

Here are a few OOTD from this past weekend in Whistler (for my Mom who is probably reading this and has no clue what OOTD means: its the abbreviation for "Outfit Of The Day").

Tank - Beach boutique in Whistler, Leopard Coat - Mink Pink (Sold here),
Yoga Pants - Lululemon, Sneakers - Converse, Bag - Prada

Sweater - Shopbop, Leather Biker - H&M, Pants - Rag & Bone,
Sandals - Zara, Bag - Prada

Top, Blazer, Skort and Fringe Bag - Zara
Sneakers - Converse, Sunnies - Ray Ban

Didn't wear this in Whistler, but this was my outfit for Casual Friday last week....

Lace top - Mink Pink, Blazer - Zara, Pants - Club Monaco
Leopard horsehair loafers - Steve Madden, Bag - Prada

Can you guys tell I love red? (especially my red bag and blazer).  I have definitely got my use of those two items this season!

Artist: Charmaine Olivia

Happy Monday!!  Although, is there even such a thing as a happy Monday?

Anyways, I am in the midst of moving into a new home and re-decorating is one of the many things I am looking forward to.

While scouring for art to put up in the new pad, I found this artist on Instagram by the name of Charmaine Olivia.  Her work instantly caught my attention because of the beautiful colors she works with and the sexiness of her subjects.

Charmaine Olivia is a self taught artist that grew up in San Diego, but now resides in San Francisco.  She is the hot new artist on the scene, having exhibited in more art shows this year than the number of fingers on your hands.

I thought I would share a few of my favs from her work.  The bonus, today she is offering 10% off any of her prints.

Visit here to view and buy her work.

Have an awesome Monday everyone!

3.1 Phillip Lim x Target

September 15th people.  Mark your calendars.  Why you ask?  Because Phillip Lim's collaboration with Target is hitting stores.

Fall fashion just got real!  After a sneak peak in May, we've  finally been able to get a full look at Phillip Lim's collection for Target in its entirety.

Generally speaking, high-low designer collaborations have seen better days.  The only high-low designer collaboration i've ever given any attention to was Missoni for Target.  This, however, has me excited and is going to restore my faith in high-low collabs.

Lim went all-in on a capsule collection of inexpensive bags for both women and men as well. Some of the bags are faux-leather reinterpretations of Lim hits, most notably the Pashli, but there are also some new shapes, including an orange-and-purple leopard tote that’s the star of the accessories collection.  Some Phillip Lim Pashli owners will probably be mad at the Pashli spin-offs, but it’s exactly the type of bag that Target would imitate anyway, so Lim might as well get some of the credit (and revenue) for those cheaper versions.

Peep my favorite pieces from the collection below:

Prices will range from $30 to $300 and available in Target stores on September 15.
